Fishbourne Roman Palace was discovered by accident during the digging of a water main trench in 1960. The discovery led to nine seasons of excavations that showed the site had developed from a military base at the time of the Roman invasion in AD43 to a sumptuous Palace by the end of the first century

WEALD AND DOWNLAND OPEN AIR MUSEUM

Set in 50 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside is a very special place to wander amongst a fascinating collection of nearly 50 historic buildings dating from the 13th to the 19th century, many with period gardens, together with farm animals, woodland walks and a picturesque lake.

There are many other attractions around our area including Blue Flag Beaches at 'The Witterings', Arts and craft centre at Bosham which also hosts a beautiful natural harbour. Chichester Marina hosts an array of boats.
The South Coast Cycle Way winds its way across our area within it is the disused Chichester to Midhurst railway, it is now called the 'Centurion Way' you can find information by clicking here

THE RICHMOND ARMS

This is the local pub, it can be found by turning right out of the property and walking down to the end of the Pond, it serves great food from 'Bangers and Mash' through to fine Czech cuisine. We would also recommend the BLT on Ciabatta (Make sure you are hungry though!)

HALLIDAYS RESTAURANT - FUNTINGTON

A truly superb restaurant situated a mile away from the cottage, twice voted as 'Best Restaurant' by the FT, featured in all good food guides. To get to it turn left out of the gates and continue along Watery Lane , at the end of the road you will find Hallidays on the right. A beautiful walk on a summers day.
